Shropshire Congress 2 – claim

Swiss Pairs again.

East is declarer in 2 . The lead is in dummy. He calls for the K and faces his hand, saying "they're all mine". North called the TD.

East argued that he was aware that Q was at large, and that if it didn't fall under the king he would ruff a heart and play winning diamonds, losing only one trick. It seemed clear to me as TD that he was aware that there was at least one trump out, that his hearts were losers, and that his original claim involved taking a number of diamond tricks. (Whether this is relevant to your ruling I'll leave for you to decide.)

How many of the last four tricks do you award to EW?

Do You or Don’t You?

I was chided by some friends about overcalling 3 in this situation, and wanted to see how out of touch I was. Do you or don't you?
