A new form of cribbage is now available. Using a specially designed board, Crash Cribbage has a unique figure-8 design. All players start in the”start” holes and choose the direction they wish to peg. You may end up pegging the same direction or in the opposite direction of the other players.

The game play is exactly the same as traditional cribbage and the track is exactly 121 holes. The difference is when you meet or “crash” another player’s peg. If you hit your opponent’s tail peg you will send it forward, if you hit your opponent’s head peg you will send it backward.

This adds a new level of complexity to the strategy involved in the pegging phase of the game. For more information visit crashcribbage.com

I recently discovered eCribbage.com where you can play  Crash Cribbage online.  Anyone can log in and play for free!  There are also several other cribbage variations there including King’s Cribbage, Cribbage with Jokers, etc…  eCribbage.com started early in 2008 with a few hundred users and is now approaching 4,000 users!

It seemed a little quiet when I visited the site, but that may be due to time zone difference. I took the opportunity to learn and play a few games of Kings Cribbage – which is a bit like scrabble meets cribbage – and highly addictive !
