It's been a while since I've played bocce, and we need to get our practice in before our second Meetup Game Day. Some of us will be meeting this Sunday afternoon to play some bocce in the courtyard of Oak Grove Village in Melrose. Trivial Pursuit: Best of Genus |
We'll be playing Rich's copy of the "Best of Genus" edition, which collects questions from previous versions of the game from the last 25 years. The six categories are: People & Places, Arts & Entertainment, History, Science & Nature, Sports & Leisure, and Wild Card. A certain trivia superstar is out of town, so here's our chance to feel like a winner at this game. Please bring something that players can snack on during the game. I'll provide water, juice, soda, plates, cups, and utensils. Parking on my street can be difficult at night. Look on the other side of Bernardo if you can't find a spot. When you are standing in front of my building, there is a driveway to the right and a walkway to the left. Take the walkway to the back and go up the stairs to the second floor. Look for Unit D. Please be prepared to take your shoes off when you come inside the apartment. There will be a collection bowl for Joy's Meetup.com fees. We will be playing Spades and other games depending on what everyone wants to play. So when you RSVP, note which game you are interested in. Pinochle and Spades are usually played with 4 people. It has been a challenge to plan events with a multiple of 4 players in attendance. We would like to attempt to fill tables of 4, but if we have too many/too few people, we will try to play games other than Spades or Pinochle, that will accommodate the number of people we have, so please come with a spirit of adventure for something new. Ideally, we are trying to fill tables with exactly 4 people, so please do update your RSVP as soon as possible if your plans change. Bring a small snack to share if you wish, and your own beverage.
