As well as enjoying a game of cards online, people also meet regularly to enjoy playing their favourite game of Bridge.

Any experience level is welcome, though we are definitely targeting beginners and those who have played in the past but have been away from the game for a while and are interested in rehoning their skills. Objectives are FUN and learning. The meeting will be at my house -- I will send you directions if you have not been here before. It's been a while since I've played bocce, and we need to get our practice in before our second Meetup Game Day. Some of us will be meeting this Sunday afternoon to play some bocce in the courtyard of Oak Grove Village in Melrose. Sunday, August 1st Gay Bridge Meetup |
Well, thanks to Gregory, Sal, Jim, Cathy, and Fran, we actually had enough people for an "already know bridge" game at the July 18th Meetup. (Sal agreed to play in one of the two "learning" bridge games - thank-you, Sal!) The lack of four people from the Meetup group at the previous Meetup in February (the other three people who Jim played with in February rarely attend) is why I hadn't tried to schedule anymore Meetups since last February. But recent Meetup messages from Gregory, Sal, and Jim (who said he could bring two other bridge players he plays with - Cathy and Fran) showed that we COULD get up to four people (yea!). So I'm really glad that we've now finally gotten up to a group of at least four "already know bridge" people, so hopefully this will always remain true in the future. Given this, I'm now going to start scheduling Meetups for this group whenever the "learning group" meets, which is usually every two Sundays (same place, same time - downstairs at Kapp's at 7pm, with an optional dinner earlier). So hopefully see you on August 1st! Please RSVP if you can make it so that we can be sure that we have at least four people for an "already know bridge" game. Thanks.
